By selecting GM Books you are assured of an association with a full service company in which you are a participant in the publishing process and in total control of the development of your manuscript through our professional guidance.
Founded in Los Angeles in 1984 by Anita and William Dorich, the company was formed to offer an alternative to hundreds of rejection letters and the pitfalls of conventional publishing in which the author surrenders all creative and editing rights. His current books is Sleep Seekers: A Reference Guide for Insomniacs and Serbia: Faces & Places.

"Each of us will one day be judged by our standard of life—
not by our standard of living; by our measure of giving—
not by our measure of wealth; by our simple goodness—
not by our seeming greatness." —William Arthur Ward
Anita and I have been married for 44 years—we attribute the success of our marriage, our personal success, and our friendships both private and business to these powerful words.
We began GM Books in 1985 after I had an unpleasant experience with a major publisher. The company was established as a hand in the dark and a positive experience to receiving dozens of rejection letters. Our first client was Richard Saul Wurman and information author and creator of the TED Conferences. Through his company, Access Press Ltd., we published 48 titles such as Access New York, Access San Francisco, Access Paris, London and Rome.
Major titles include the 1984 Los Angeles Summer Games for ARCO; Understanding Money and Markets for the Wall Street Journal; Investing in the 90's for Fortune Magazine. Each of these titles sold over one million copies.
For the Los Angeles Times we have produced 7 titles including ConArtist, 30 years of Paul Conrad their political cartoonist, 4:31 The Los Angeles Earthquake, 30 Years of Recipe Request by Rose Dosti and Witness to War: Images of the Persian Gulf War which won a Pulitzer. In addition to books like Media Cleansing: Dirty Reporting by award winning journalist Peter Brock, Love is Love...But, Business is Business by Merle Horwitz, The Kissing Cure by Dr. Ruth McConnell and This Bible Talks by Pamela Fischer our firm has published 160 titles in ten years with the who's who in American business. Current book projects include TransAtlantic Man and Global Citizen, a two volume autobiography of Sir Eldon Griffiths who served 3 decades in the British Parliament, was editor of Time and Newsweek and is currently the president of the World Affairs Council of Orange County, California.
