Savoring the Small
At some point it is good to begin savoring the small. For instance, a second can be savored as well as an hour or a day. An inbreath and an outbreath become like crocuses bearing witness to spring. A sigh of silence is a wee holy birth.
Too many people believe that the second coming will be literal and huge. Not me. It may consist of conscious kindness measured in a teaspoon.
My heart tells me very little when I forget to notice the tiny stuff that makes up my life. It could be a pair of socks or a piece of fudge. Noticed and cared-for things make up the quality of our lives. Each small attention is part of the cosmic love puzzle.
I have often wondered what love is. It may be just noticing and savoring the small.
