Most parents seem to make parenting way harder than it needs to be. It makes me sad when I hear so many parents joke about how "at least they only have to endure 18 years with each child." I think being a parent is one of the most awesome, fun, life-changing experiences and I'm so honored that I was given the opportunity to be a parent. While there are definitely times parenting is a challenge, generally speaking, parenting is fun and my kids are a blast! I'm passionate about sharing what I know about how kids learn and develop and how to use great parenting techniques for the purpose of helping other parents know the joy and ease of parenting without having to yell or scream or beat your kids up. All this AND have a great relationship with your kids that will last a lifetime!
I believe that it is completely possible to have well-behaved, respectful, loving children while also taking care of their heart. We can have children who take ownership for their own behavior, make great choices and also know how to love, be compassionate, and feel valued as an individual. As parents, our role is to be a child's teacher. In everything we do with our kids, what are we teaching them and what are they learning from us? In some cases, this also means we take a good hard look at how we as Mom and Dad are modeling the behavior we expect from our children both in our interactions with our kids and our interactions with each other.

I provide parenting workshops and classes, private consultations, phone and e-mail consults, and in-home coaching (like the nannies you see on tv). Additionally, I provide Communication Strengthening workshops and coaching for couples and parents so that they can be a stronger example to their kids in how to treat others, even in times of conflict.
You can also follow me through my own parenting journey as I try to demonstrate how I put the ideas and strategies I teach into practice in my own life. Subscribe to www.parentingwhatipreach.wordpress.com
