I am a Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and Certified Personal Trainer with over 20 years of experience. She is also an Elite Personal Trainer with IDEA. Ms. Kalkstein is the owner/president of Fortify Your Frame, Inc., a home based mobile personal training business concentrating on improving function with older adults. She receveid an Associate of Applied Science in Physical Therapy Assisting from Broward Community College and continued her education to receive her Bachelor of Arts in Exercise and Sports Science from the University of Texas at Arlington. Ms. Kalkstein is an Allied member of the American College of Sports Medicine and a member of IDEA and a member of the National Osteoporosis Foundation. She is also involved in her local chapter of the APTA serving as Affiliate Representative.
Ms. Kalkstein served as a volunteer strength coach for the Disabled Sports Association of North Texas for several years, where the athletes earned many medals under her direction. Currently she volunteers with the local chapter of Special Olympics and core development for a local karate school. As an experienced physical therapist assistant and personal trainer, Ms. Kalkstein offers a comprehensive and unique understanding of the aging adult and effective programs that will strengthen the whole body to help increase functional abilities. She is a national lecture on a CEU offered seminar titled "Functional Strength Training for the Aging Spine", a course she created. Her wealth of knowledge and practical “field” experience make her an informative instructor. She brings passion, enthusiasm and innovative ideas to her presentations and keeps the day moving with hands-on activities.
I travel monthly teaching my seminar "Functional Strength Training for the Aging Spine" with Cross Country Education. The seminar provides CEU for allied health and fitness professional.

My protocol and philosophy about exercise is simple - stability before mobility. I work on developing core in a stable environment then progress from there. Progression is solely based on the individuals abilities and never rushed.
