During the death of my mother and husband, the kidnapping of my two children, during mental illness and leading a destructive life, I realized the few positive sayings I held onto were my lifeline back to a satisfying, productive life.
To recover my sanity from mental and physical illness, I doodled. For those of you who don't know what 'doodling is, it is scribbling little images o words on paper to keep yourself occupied when you are bored or tuned out or desperate and covering it up.
These doodles grew into small colored 'art' works; the words became sayings that other people responded to, and I realized that my need was common to all of us. I realized that words are not just words, but that they are actually actions, born from within us and given life as we act out our thoughts.
My articles and images have helped thousands of people over the last 12 years. People put the small image-words on their refrigerators, carry them in their wallets and purses so that they may take them out at anxious or challenging moments. They paste them to the dashboards of their cars, pin them to t-shirts, tape them to notebooks and laptops, and find many unusual ways to post the words they know their hearts need.
Here I will be sharing, free, many of the 2000+ word-images and articles that have grown from both the pain and joy of the last 15 years. A website will be made available where the full spectrum of the life and death words may be downloaded or purchased, as posters, framed pictures, mugs, t-shirts and other items.
