As an ex-reluctant networker and a introvert, networking and small talk just weren't difficult--they were impossible for me a few years ago. And now I want to share the techniques my mentors taught me. Not only did I get into the hidden job market to find a job when I was in a painful job search, my subsequent four jobs came to me through that mechanism.
That's a big leap from being the woman who tried to make it look as though she wasn't hiding out in the ladies room, which of course I was. I couldn't bring myself to walk into that networking meeting next door.
I've learned a lot since then, and I and my clients have benefited from using the techniques and strategies that can open all kinds of doors to the hidden job market.
My unique background means job seekers get a well-rounded behind-the-scenes perspective of job search today, as well as how hiring decisions are really made. I've been a marketing executive, retained executive search associate, business owner, frequent job changer (successfully changing industries and functions even though I wasn't the most qualified candidate).
Now I work as a mentor to job seekers who realize how essential it is to get into the hidden job market. Unfortunately, while we may know it's critical, most of us didn't learn how to do it. That's where I come in.
I had to learn it for myself. Now I am delighted to be able to teach and lead others into the hidden job market. It really isn't all that hidden when you know how to get access via my simple and effective techniques.
