Gregory Covey has been in a leadership role since he was only sixteen years old, when he quickly demonstrated his leadership abilities and was promoted to assistant manager of a fast food restaurant.
From there Greg joined the United States Marine Corps and served honorably in a number of leadership positions for over twelve years. He ended his career with the Marine Corps at an Inspector Instructor assignment in New York City. At that assignment his primary duty was to prepare Marine Reservists to be ready for combat at any time.
After leaving the Marine Corps, Greg and his wife purchased and reopened a restaurant that had been closed for over eight months. Within three months of successfully reopening the restaurant they were offered a reasonable price, which they took and they moved to Southern California.
Once in Southern California Greg joined the Marriott Corporation in the Human Resources Department of the Management Services Division. He enjoyed a very successful career with them, ending as the Human Resources Director for a very large Management Services contract.
For health reasons, Greg relocated his family to the Midwest where he took on a leadership role with a large health care facility.
During his thirty-five plus year career, Greg has been involved in every aspect of Human Resources Management. He prides himself on being able to lead people and organizations through impossible situations. The bigger the challenge the more he is motivated to overcome it.
Greg is able to accomplish this through his leadership style. He hopes to be able to pass along some of his personal strengths through his website www.leadership-skills-for-life.com/ . Such as his personal experiences through Marine Corps Boot Camp. Also he has been able to share many experiences he has had during his career outside of the Marine Corps.
Finally he has very successfully undergone numerous inspections and audits from governmental and private organizations such as; The Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs, the Joint Commission of Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, Environmental Protection Agency, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
Leaders create reasons for those to follow!
Leaders apply just enough pressure to change coal into diamonds!
Leaders know when to stand out front, when to stand along side, and when to watch from the rear!
