A massage, spa and wellness: aficionado, connoiseur and informationalist- EUNICE ESTIPONA, an out-of the box thinker and visionary, started as a massage therapist way back in 2001 who worked her way up the career ladder of the spa, currently a spa director and consultant, she became hooked to the intricacies of the massage and spa industry which eventually led to her organizing the International Council for Complementary Medicine (ICCM). She is a Registered Medical Technologist, a Licensed Massage Therapist and an Emergency Medical Technician. She is a spa, massage therapy and wellness center consultant, teacher, lecturer, coach, mentor and speaker specializing in Massage/Touch Therapy.
She is a member of the Philippine Association of Medical Technologists (PAMET) and an active Board member of the Massage and Bodywork Association (MBAI) which is under the umbrella of the Department of Health, Philippine Institute of Traditional and Alternative Health Care. She's the first Philippine-based member of the American Massage Therapy Association (Evanston Illinois, USA) and a member of the Christian Medical and Dental Association (Bristol, Tennessee USA). She is also the organizer of Philippine/Manila Massage Therapy Meet-up and the Manila Entrepreneur Meetup groups.
Her endeavor is in educating and developing a mind set geared towards a responsible and caring attitude of the massage and spa personnel through her mentorship sessions, lectures and speaking engagements. Her love for natural, uniquely-Filipino indigenous concepts of massage and spa is evident in her speaking engagements. She states that "Filipinos have the natural ability to excel in “touch therapy” as exemplified by our culture and our traditional values through our ancestors’ practice." Her travels both locally and abroad also gave her the privilege of appreciating and understanding that every tribe and culture worldwide should embrace diversity and converge on a common goal of being a flowing well for others to benefit from.
She is the author of “The Spa, Massage and Wellness Resource and Career Book”, the first book of resource information to know more about the Spa, Massage and Wellness Industry in the Philippines and other countries including the United States, Australia and other Asian countries. If you are a spa, massage therapy and wellness information seeker the resources contained in the book is for you. These are the things that she is most passionate about: Spa, Massage, Bodyworks and Wellness practices that are indigenous, socially and environmentally conscious. Practices that does not exploit labor and fair trade.
Although good help is hard to find, she believes that there are still a few good people who combine great skills, humanity and dedication to their work who could really make a difference in creating a worldwide appoach to how massage therapy (and related fields like spa, indigenous therapies, etc.) is accepted by the general public. With a deep desire to make these modalities accessible and affordable to everyone.
It is a blessing to love what we do and its even a greater blessing to get paid for it
