Erica Thompson is a 40-year-old, Stay-at-Home mom with 3 children and a husband in the military. She was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in 1995, but suffered from it many years prior to diagnosis and later, diagnosed with Chronic Myofascial Pain, IBS, RLS, migraine & more.
Out of frustration, many road-blocks and pitfalls, she took it upon herself to be proactive in her treatment and began researching every aspect of fibromyalgia and all it's over-lapping conditions: symptoms, causes, nutrition, medications, drug interactions, supplements, alternative therapies, mental health, cognitive dysfunction, diet & exercise, and clinical studies. She has accumulated years of research and is an expert based on her own experience, her mother's, her grandmother's and other chronic pain sufferers she has known.
On her website, Fibromyalgia Help 4 Us http://www.fibromyalgiahelp4us.com, she strives in a personal way, to be informative, factual, supportive and honest. Topics on her website include: fibromyalgia, chronic myofascial pain (formally MPS), chronic fatigue syndrome, restless legs syndrome, irritable bowel syndrome, mitral valve prolapse, interstitial cystitis, paresthesia, insulin resistance, thyroid resistance, and more. She always advocates working with one's primary physician in order to get the help that is right for each individual, since each patient is unique and what works for one, may not work for another.
Fibromyalgia patients and other chronic pain sufferers are often worn out and at the end of their rope - their disease begins to define who they are. Once this happens, the pain, depression, anxiety and more becomes worse and they lose hope! Her goal is to help chronic pain sufferers avoid some of the pitfalls that are around every corner and take back their power to control these dibilitating conditions instead of being controlled by them.
I have plans to write articles on every over-lapping (associated) conditions & diseases that FM patients face. I want to walk through each step with them, encourage them and support them in any way I can. I've been through the ringer with fibromyalgia and my other conditions - so, I hope I can help others through my articles and website.
