A dream is a raging fire! Like an ember it starts with a thought! If fueled with emotion it creates determination! Determination is followed by ACTION! Like most kids, David was six when he started school. His dream was to read and write. But what followed was a 12 year struggle to achieve. He found the words in books hard to understand and "jumbled up." He could not write his name properly until the 5th grade. His mother Jean, recognized the difficulty early on. Each day after school she would sit with David to review his assignments and help improve his reading comprehension. This was a milestone in his life. One that would take hold, and cause him to grow in strength and determination. In eighth grade, he was placed in an English class for students with special needs. In the Summer of 1978, David used savings from his paper route to attend Summer school for English and reading skills. He excelled. Determination was beginning to show. That same year he entered high school. The high school placed him in a special needs English class. David objected. In his hand and heart were 3 months of hard work with credentials. A big sacrifice for any 14 year old! Today, David is an actor, singer, writer, director and producer. He is also an artist and an aspiring life coach. His motto? "A person has no choice but to move forward. If you encounter an obstacle, kick it over and keep going!" He thanks God, his mother Jean & his 5th grade teacher, Mrs. Handy for instilling in him "A determination that does not fade." David lives in Michigan with his wife Cindy and their two boys, Spence and Duke
