"Self-Love Author & Speaker" Chantelle Cotton
Who is Chantelle Cotton?
"Self-Love Author & Speaker" Chantelle Cotton Born in Illinois and raised in Nebraska, Chantelle Cotton had everything she needed to live a "good life" except what she needed most – self love. In her youth, she not only struggled with racial identity, but she was consistently ostracized by her peers, pressured about sex, and completely misunderstood. As a result, her self-esteem plummeted and the negative image of herself led her directly into verbally, emotionally and physically abusive relationships. Through it all, Chantelle persevered and with the help of her parents, pursued a higher education at Fort Valley State University, receiving a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice, and later a Master’s degree in Global Technology Management and International Marketing from American Intercontinental University. After college, she led a very successful career in sales and management in the financial services industry. Chantelle was determined not to allow past mistakes to jeopardize her future. She was committed to becoming successful – regardless of the challenges that plagued her past. Now, as a "Self-Love Author & Speaker", Chantelle Cotton empathetically addresses tough issues like sex, drugs, and toxic relationships – helping girls learn to say "no" to destructive thinking and behavior. Delivering the practical answers, and the hope and inspiration that our young girls so desperately need, Chantelle Cotton offers real and heartfelt mentoring through workshops, seminars and keynotes. Her energy and passion are limitless and her love for each girl in the audience emanates from the stage. "Girls walk away with more knowledge and a positive mind set, and they feel empowered. If I can touch and/or change the life of just one young woman then I have done my job," says Cotton. Her desire is to use her mistakes of the past to change the lives of our future leaders. She hopes her transparency and passion makes a difference in the lives of young women who are saying "yes" in situations where they should say "no". In fact, her upcoming book, "I have a big heart for these girls and I believe that if they are given the proper tools and information to go out into this game called life, they will make better choices and more informed decisions. Knowledge, along with guidance and self-love, is key." For more information about visit: www.WhyDoISayYes.comP.O. Why Do I Say Yes...?
"Self-Love Author & Speaker" Chantelle Cotton has asked herself this very same question many times in her life. Why did she say yes to sex at the young age of 14? Why did she "yes" again the second time, after having gotten pregnant her very first time? Why did she say "yes" to a relationship with a verbally, physically and emotionally abusive man? And then again to a relationship with someone else just like him?
There are many times in life when women - young and old - say "yes" when they should say "no". And there are many reasons why, as well. In her upcoming release, and debut book title, Why do I say Yes, When I Should Be Saying No?! Self-Love Author & Speaker Chantelle Cotton explores this topic and highlights the reasons high-school and college-aged girls are saying "yes" to destructive thoughts and behaviors. In this 120-page, self-published quick, but life-altering read, Chantelle Cotton empathetically addresses tough issues, like sex, drugs, and toxic relationships in the lives of teens and young adults. Using her personal story and the details of mistakes she’s made in her past, she pinpoints 9 reasons why young girls say "yes" when they should be saying "no". Some of these reasons include: Peer acceptance Lack of knowledge Low self-esteem Lack of self-respect Feeling unloved Fear of being alone And more... Cotton also expresses how learning to love oneself is the most powerful deterrent for destructive behavior. "Self-Love is so important because sometimes ‘me, myself & I’ is all you have. And having a positive self-image and high self-esteem will allow you to make unpopular choices and do the right things, regardless of how it may look or feel to someone else," she explains. Why Do I Say Yes... is a powerful and emotional read, with pertinent, relevant and visual life examples for high-school and college-aged girls.
Why Do I Say Yes, When I Should Be Saying No?! is scheduled to release on March 1, 2011 and will be available online and at all Chantelle Cotton workshops, seminars and speaking engagements.
