Frequently referred to as “The Paper Tiger Lady,” Barbara Hemphill started her company in 1978 with a $7 ad in a New York City newspaper.
She has appeared on the Today Show and Good Morning America, in Reader’s Digest, USA Today, Kiplinger’s Personal Finance, The New York Times, Real Simple, and Guideposts magazine. She is past president of the National Association of Professional Organizers, a winner of the Founder’s Award, and a two-time winner of the President’s Award.
As Barbara's business grew, so did her vision. She wanted to be able to offer others the same opportunity that she had, while expanding the number of people she could help. So in the 1990's she created a Certification program for organizing and productivity experts.
In 2007, Barbara partnered with Andrea Anderson, one of her certified consultants at the time, to train and mentor Certified Productive Environment Specialists™ around the world. Since then, Andrea has helped Barbara turn her consultant training class into an online program and virtual team of experts, she is the author of the “10 Day Guide to Launching a Highly Successful Productivity Consulting Business in 90 Days”, and is the creator of the popular Productive Environment Network™.
Spanning a 40+ year career on the cutting edge of a growing industry, Barbara Hemphill remains passionate about helping people eliminate the physical, digital, emotional and spiritual clutter that prevents them from accomplishing their work and enjoying their lives.
