As described on Wikipedia, “An entrepreneur is an ambitious individual who raises capital through risk and/or initiative.” Sounds simple enough right? Well, maybe.

In an article posted by Forbes Brett Nelson, shows a distinction of a true entrepreneur (from Dictionary.com): “an individual who organizes and manages ANY undertaking, particularly a business, for the most part with considerable drive, determination and risk.”

If I am allowed to give my own definition on what is entrepreneurship, I would definitely sum it all up into one word.

Passion.

Passion is a very vague word, but I’m positive that you can relate. As an example, we as individuals prefer to hang around others who have a similar passion. Each and every one of us has things that interests us, and we prefer to be around those who share the same interest. We wouldn’t like to discuss about football with someone who has no interest in football now would we?

For Entrepreneur however, these are the people who are hungry for a change in their life and the society around them. The roots may vary, as an example, some might go on the route of Entrepreneurship for financial freedom, some may want to better their society. I personally believe everyone has the right of their own choice.

Most Entrepreneurs are well aware of the risks involved along the process due to the size of their goals, and of course most fail, because they take failures as failures. They don’t take it as a process of learning which is why most end up giving up. Going through all the failures are hard. I’m sure most of you can relate to the feeling of failing at one particular thing, now multiply that feeling by a thousand times.

Most people wonder why would anyone go through this process of failing for multiple times, why would anyone risk hurting themselves over and over again? I said it before and I will say this again, it is because of PASSION.

Most people would quit doing anything if they don’t have the passion for doing it. As a musician, I have seen that happen all around me. Some would buy an instrument today and quit the next day. Why? Because they do not have the PASSION to go through the long hours of practice and failing in order to reach a certain level of skills in their playing.

Allow me to ask you several questions:

What is your biggest accomplishment so far in your life?

How long did it take you to achieve it?

How many “bumps” did you have to go through to get there?

Those bumps are the failures that you conquered.

It is true that most of us prefer to stay inside our comfort zone, no one likes to feel frustrated or get hurt. But you need to realize that you are meant to accomplish bigger things in life. How would you accomplish it if you refuse to take necessary actions and go through the process of achieving it? I have come to a conclusion that success is a process.

What Is Entrepreneurship?

Entrepreneurship is an entrepreneur who is willing to do WHATEVER it takes to achieve their goals. They are NOT afraid of facing failures but instead welcome them with open arms. They know that going through the process of failing that they actually develop the skills they require to reach the next level. Below is a video of Jonathan Budd, a self made millionaire by the age of 25. I watch his videos daily because he inspires me, and I hope for him to inspire you too.
