Many believe intellect drives the world, but I would suggest EMOTIONS drive and fuel our world and the world around us, like passion, love, joy, happiness, and enthusiasm as well as emotions of hatred, fear, jealousy, and guilt. Emotions (energy-in-motion) prompts us to think in a certain way, act in a particular manner and perceive events through certain colored lenses, be it "bad" or "good."

I often describe emotions to my client’s as, water seeping through your hands. One moment we think we fully understand our emotions/feelings and the next moment we feel we can’t quite grasp how we feel about something occurring in our world. Or why we behaved in an unexpected at a meeting, with a family member or in handling a conflict with a friend. Hence the analogy of emotions being like water seeping through your hands.

The roots of worry form due to unmet desires and fears we harbor in the caverns of being. Worry is a state of mind, which generates underneath the surface of consciousness fears, doubts, uncertainties and tensions; creating an intriguing world of complex processes of the subconscious, and experiences that propel the motor of the mind in how you think, interpret situations and act in the world.

You may be thinking, "I have no control of my subconscious?" To a certain extent that might be true. What you do have control over is your conscious mind in assisting with setting the sail winds of your subconscious. The subconscious mind can’t say no to the focus, direction and edicts of the conscious mind. The subconscious mind is like the Genie and the Lamp, ... Your wish is my command. If your consciousness is focused on negativity then this treads a footpath of pessimism, resulting in low energy and a bad attitude as examples.

Take Jennifer, she is a teacher and works with young children all day. She is miserable in her job, tired of problematic children and disgruntled parents. Irritability, frustration, mood swings and sadness envelop her disposition, which becomes one of pessimism, negativity and curt remarks to children and parents. As the years pass and she continues to work in her job, Jennifer’s friend notice her becoming more and more lethargic (wanting to stay home) and becoming more entrenched (her footpath turns into deep grooves; ruts in consciousness) in regularly expressing negative views at work and her life.

Jennifer and her friends don’t know that her persistent pessimistic attitude piles up/becomes accumulative, like "garbage," i.e., D.E.N.S.I.T.Y. – Dense Energy Now So Intensified Towards You. Think of DENSITY as weighing you down just like tons of garbage. It can also smell and have no useful purpose other than occupying space. Similarly, negative emotions become momentum of energy, which can create ongoing cycles of grumpiness, irritability, anger and despondence. This DENSITY continues to build due to your ongoing attention and other emotional reactions. Resulting in who you use to be, (e.g., positive, kind and giving) is no longer relevant to who you are currently being (e.g., despondent, worrisome and irritable).

It can be hard to pull yourself out of this state of consciousness. The weight (DENSITY) has built up so much so that it affects your self-esteem and you may feel like you like you are in quicksand and can’t get out. Not realizing that in getting pulled down by this density also engulfs your soul by putting barriers in your soul’s path for evolving and growing.

Your feet, by way of your mind (state of consciousness), must be removed from the quicksand to achieve soul evolution. A transformative pathway can be created through: a) redirecting your attention, b) showing accountability, and c) knowing the truth of your inner being (i.e., your soul needs). We will discuss these three areas in our next article. Stay tuned.
