You’ve probably heard the term, ‘think outside the box.’

You may think you know what this expression means and may be surprised when you read the definition.

The last part of the definition is what I’ve found for my clients is a key to success in their life and business – ‘to eliminate false constraints when attempting to solve a problem.’

In your case, the false constraints may be the harmless lies you tell yourself to keep you in your comfort zone. These lies keep you from being creative, taking chances and living a full and joyful life.

What are the lies you tell yourself that keep you satisfied with your results and may be holding you back from becoming the business owner you are destined to be? One of the biggest ones is denial or ‘sugar-coating the truth.’

Denial and “sugar-coating reality” is used by people who are resigned to keeping things the same and living in their comfort zone. They complain about business, their life, their health but when you suggest ways to improve their situation, they balk that they don’t have the time, money or skills to make changes.

You are not this person because if you were, you wouldn’t keep reading this article. You’d walk away and pretend you never saw it – you’d avoid the truth. Instead, you’re putting your foot down and saying “enough” and may be asking yourself, “How do I get into massive action, because I know if I stay where I am, things will be the same next month as they are this month?”

Success begins with us. For us to make a difference in the lives of others it all starts with us being a leader of our own lives. This means we not only have to be honest with others, but we also must start by being honest with ourselves.

Here are some success tips to get you started:

Success Tip #1: We must pay attention to what is and isn’t working in our business and life and be honest. We can’t change what we don’t acknowledge. In other words: we must TELL THE TRUTH to ourselves.

Success Tip #2: We must feel disturbed and uncomfortable – we must not feel safe in our comfort zone as we won’t make changes when we’re happy. We grow and change when we feel enough pain and frustration.

Success Tip #3: We must embrace the truth and our discomfort and harness that energy to fuel our passion and make change. We need this passion to inspire us to follow our dreams and break free of our self-limiting box we build around ourselves. Once we’re ‘free’, we can be creative, take risks and live full, enriched lives while making a positive difference in the world.

If you want to know how to ‘break free of the box’, master your inner game so you can harness your power for success, you’ll want to follow the Highest Potential Training Action Guide below:

Let’s get started…

1. Focus inside, around your heart area, close your eyes and ask inside. Where is the pain or lack in my life? What area of my life is where I am missing out on? What area of my life if I were to resolve it would make the biggest difference in my life? What area of my life am I saying to myself “It is ok, it could be worse?”

2. Now make the problem worse then it may seem. Be truthful with yourself and state the case exactly as you see it your life. Imagine you had to live with it exactly as it is and it will not change. Really amplify the pain. What is the worst case scenario? Let me give you an example.

3. Don't let yourself off the hook – no mental band aids.

Don’t let a habit pattern of “it’s not that bad” come into to settle you into complacency. It keeps us settling. Often we go into mental band-aid when we are in discomfort.

Don't compare yourself to others or compare how things used to be and say, "I've come a long way." This steals your drive, your power to make change. Do not rationalize where you are at. Accept full responsibility for where you are in your life.

4. When you get to that acute pain point - don't permit distractions.

What do you usually do when you are in pain? You kill the pain, right? Don't fall into the trap of using familiar crutches to take you out of your discomfort and pain – pain is the driving force when we see truth and want to change our situation.

A personal example:

A few years ago I was exposed to black mold and got very sick.

Over a few months my weight went up 25%, which is heavy for me because I am pretty small. I did what many people do when they don't like how they look; I wore loose-fitting clothes, ignored my looks and accepted my weight.

So what did I do to change? I stopped telling myself that my weight was okay. I knew my weight was an indication of an underlying health issue I needed to solve so I turned up the fire so I couldn’t escape the discomfort.

Now, my weight is what it was when I was 13 years old. I wake up easily around 5:00 am every morning and have the stamina and energy of a 20 year old.

ON TO MAKING POSITIVE CHANGES:

Now, visualize an outcome you desire around a problem that has been plaguing you. What would it look life if you were to transform that pain into what you desire to happen?

Write down what you ideally would like to happen? Focus on the outcome, not the “to do” for right now. See it, visualize it. Rate it on a 1 to 10 scale, 10 being the ultimate, 1 being the pits. Make whatever change you need to make to tune it up to a 10 in desirability.

Can you see a track to run on?

If not, brainstorm ways to turn around your painful situation. I want you to come up with at least three immediate actions to move you towards your dreams.

Finally, write down what you can do before the day is done. Take action towards the outcome so you can go to sleep tonight knowing you are manifesting your desired life.

When you do this, you’ll be stepping up, becoming an action master - a leader of your life.
