There are a lot of self-help books out there in the marketplace today because people are looking for the secret to success in life. Many times people will define their success in life by how much money they are able to attain or the possessions they are able to acquire. The truth is, success in life is so much more than what you end up with at the end of your life because there is no way you're taking it with you.

If you want to be successful in anything, you have to have passion about whatever it is you're doing. In my industry, you often hear people talking about finding your why. It is an absolute necessity to find your why. The question is what is your why based on? You cannot get passionate about acquiring more stuff. Think about the types of people who are passionate about what they do. Doctors are passionate, teachers, artists, musicians and other people who have a direct effect on the lives of people around them.

In order to tap into passion, you have to make your why about something that is beyond yourself. You have to realize that your life is about more than you. True success does not reside in selfish desires and ambition. True success resides in the feeling that you have done something for the greater good. We always hear that it is better to give than to receive and this my friend is absolutely true.

If you want to be successful in business, your why has to be about more than what you are going to get as an individual. Your why needs to be about what you will be able to give other people when you reach the pinnacle of success. Yes, passion is the driving force behind being successful in anything. Anyone can tap into passion. A lot of people are passionate and they don't make a lot of money. If you can find a way to use your passion to make money, you can make your financial dreams your life and in the process help others who are less fortunate than you are.
