There’s a new kind of fatigue. Decision fatigue. If you’re like most women, you make thousands of decisions a day. From the critical to the trival. Day in and day out. You can simplify your life by learning how to prevent decision fatigue. Here are a few ways to do just that.

Get Comfortable with Not Being In Charge
It’s a hard thing to do. But the benefits are priceless. Imagine your value is determined not by the thousands of decisions you make for others, but by who you are. Know that your value does not deminish when you allow others to make a few decisions.

You will still be seen as the invaluable, resourceful, and beautiful woman you are. You’ll just be simplifying your life at the same time.

Release a Decision from Your Care
When you make thousands of decisions a day, it can exhaust you, pull you down, both mentally and emotionally. Leaving your mind, body, and soul . . .numb. But, when you release a few decisions from your care, and allow others to take “ownership,” you create space in your head, heart and soul, for things you’d rather give your attention.

Start by insisting, “They decide” or “They choose” then be prepared to let go. One of the biggest mistakes women make: hovering over every decision or judging the decision maker. So, be careful not to share what you would have done or how you would have done it. If you do, some will resent it. The result. . . the decision will end up right back in your lap.

So, release a decision from your care, then be prepared to let go.

Watch the Magic Happen

What do I mean by magic? You build comfidence in others when you release a decision from your care. Every time you insist that someone “Decide” or “Choose” with sincerity, you’re secretly saying, “I have complete confidence in you.” “What you think matters.”

When you do this with your children, they will shine inside and flourish throughout. When you try this with co-workers and colleagues, they feel a sense of accomplishment and are honored by your trust.

Equally as important, you simplify your life and trust yourself enough to let go. You have faith that all will work out for the best. So, watch the magic happen every time you hand over the reigns. And, by giving others permission to handle the little things, you’ll have more energy and enthusiasm for the big things.
