In the 15-years I have been a Feng Shui practitioner, I have been asked a lot of questions about “how Fen g Shui can help me make more money?” But over the past couple years, I have seen a significant increase from clients and skeptics alike wondering, “Can Feng Shui help me get a job?”
First off, for those of you who don’t know what Feng Shui is, it’s the practice of adjusting a person’s living space or work space to achieve specific goals. Feng Shui allows us to see how specific sectors of our living space relate to areas of health, money, relationships and other aspects of our everyday lives. And by making these adjustments to these sectors, a person can bring positive energy or “chi” to energize their goals. So, for example, if a person wants to make more money, Feng Shui can help. If they want to improve their health, Feng Shui can help. If they are looking for a partner or to improve an existing relationship, Feng Shui can help.
So now back to the question at hand – Can Feng Shui help a person find a job? The answer is YES! And there has probably never been a better time to put Feng Shui to work for you. It’s been a tough job market out there. Too many applicants competing for too few jobs. And when you do get the interview, attempting to differentiate yourself from other candidates is a sporting event in and of itself. So, doing everything you can to ensure success, including Feng Shui is quite important.
So, where do you start? For those interested in finding a job or making more money, I would refer you to the “Wealth” and “Career” sectors of your home or apartment. In Feng Shui, there are 9-sectors in our living spaces which correspond to different aspects of our lives. For job hunters, concentrate your efforts on the Wealth Sector (located in the back left corner of your living space; as you enter you home) and the Career Sector (located at the entry point of your living space). There are three simple steps to apply to these sectors: DECLUTTER the space, CURE the space of negative energy, and ACTIVATE your goal to secure a new job.
De-cluttering is just what it sounds like, clean that room. If you have household items laying around in these areas, put them in their proper place. Things laying around or cluttering up this area hold onto negative energy and block energy. Eliminating the clutter will open up the energy channels for you and allow positive energy flow into the sectors of your living space corresponding to money and career! If that is too esoteric for you, think of it another way. How does it feel after you do spring cleaning? Granted, it may be a lot of work, but you feel a great sense of accomplishment and your space looks much nicer. Same principle applies to de-cluttering your important sectors in Feng Shui!
Second step is to CURE the sector. Common issue is see that need to be cured is the Wealth sector may be “missing” in your living space. Don’t worry, just because the original architect or builder did not provide a room in the back left corner of the floorplan, it doesn’t mean you have to embark on a renovation project just to get a job. You can either hang a crystal prism in the back left corner or hang a decorative mirror in this area. In Feng Shui, this metaphorically extends the space to account for a virtual wealth sector!
Third step is to ACTIVATE your goal. So if you are trying to land a job, you want it to happen faster, right? Then hang a picture of horses running. In Feng Shui, running horses symbolize “your goals happening faster.” Another recommendation is to place a desk fountain in the wealth sector. Water represents another activation method in Feng Shui and running water brings more positive energy!
Feng Shui is not magic and it’s not a religious belief system. It is a proven method for helping people achieve their most important goals in life. I wish you all the best in your job search and encourage you to consider Feng Shui to help you in your job hunting!
