Everything done through freewill.

Mother: There is a form of energy. What's that like? That's a kind of vapor. A force of Nature. Before the creation, it is left to each at certain moment to draw upon that force in the way one can on the eve of a clash--as much as one can.

Prosad : 'On the eve of a clash'--that means?

Mother: Out of the external nature was fashioned a male and a female. Their internal nature, too, was fashioned. With their quintessential substance each grows up in his or her way.

Take man's case. His non-essential element is seminal fluid. Similarly, in the case of women. A baby is born from their non-essential element. While still in the womb, there arises again of the baby the question of absorbing the essential element from the mother.

From that source, the personal and internal nature of the baby is being formed. Out in the world as it grows up, he again takes in from the external nature for him. Each takes in according to its own nature.

Prosad: I can somehow understand this, Mother. But how was the earth formed out of something vaporous? This orb of earth, this moon, this sun—where did they all come from?

Mother : All these, one by one, have been formed They've come one after another. When you've found out one, you can find out the rest, too. Once you've got hold of a thread's end, you keep reeling it off, and you'll finish by unwinding the whole ball of thread.

All this is done of one's freewill. If this can be done of one's freewill, why not something else? With the help of knowledge, take off the veils one after another.

I told you this on an earlier occasion. There's rice lying in the sack. Nothing anywhere near. Then worms appear of their own freewill. How does it happen? There are excreta lying by itself. How do threadworms appear there?

So we can come to a rough conclusion—it both exists and yet doesn't. At one time you'll have to accept; then you reason your way out of it. So does this cycle go on.

But there's nothing anywhere—to say this 'no' is very difficult. Only one in a million can do it. Again merely saying it won't do, you're to back it up with reason. It's easy to say 'no'. But you can't prove it with a show of reason. You can cut out a lot of bother, if you say, 'yea', so many reasons stand firm.

'Energy of Nature is the essence of the matter'

Mother: So, what were we talking about? There's some kind of energy. What's that like—it's a kind of vapor. A force of nature. Before the creation it is left to each to draw upon that force in the way one can on the eve of a clash. As much as one can. Since our reason fails here, we bring in such things as—rebirth, meritorious action in a former birth, law of karma, atman, Paramatman and so on and so forth.

Prosad: To draw as much as one can—this is irrelevant. Whatever happens does so of its own freewill.

Mother : No, it doesn't happen like that. That force which arises at the juncture—at that parti¬cular moment what's the state of nature while that force is working? That state of nature passes into the being of each one in different degrees and each gets his or her share.

Two worms have come into being in the midst of that vapor of their own will. This too is made out of a vapor. Each of these is a vapor. Vapor of knowledge. Vapor of ignorance. Each gets what enters into one's being.

Prosad : Then nature lies hidden inside a worm?

Mother : Each and all. Now they come out and go fore-going for food. While doing that, each takes the sort of food that suits it.

I took what¬ever kind of food I did like. So I've grown strong.

Words of Warning.

Mother: I've already spoken about 'A Ball of Fire'. Can you stand up before fire? That vapor—everything is being written down on it and it throws out all that as if in plates.

Prosad: You talk about A Ball of Fire.—That's a form after all. Then why do you say, God is Formless?

Mother: It isn't a ball at all. With your eyes, you see it as round. My child, after all your insight is attained through the eye of flesh. If this is round, that too is round. Why else, the word 'sight' is used? You receive that fire into this vessel of yours and look at it. To speak about your vessel. It runs into the mould of your vessel. Actually, it is nothing but vapor.

Don't talk about all these things. They will get muddled up. What I leave behind -—they'll search out what they need from that. I leave behind me what lies in between. Don't stay either before or behind. After this, nobody will be able to come along.

Prosad : Is it so inaccessible!

Mother: Out and out inaccessible. Once you reach that inaccessible tract, it'll be brought home to you that nothing exists. What does 'brought home' mean here? You yourself will come to know. Your own echoes will keep sounding within you. Who is God? He is nothing but knowledge. What you find to be truth judging everything flaw¬lessly on all sides is everything.

What is truth is Knowledge. Knowledge is everything. Knowledge is deathless. So it is said to be perennial. So you're getting to know the most intimate secrets. You'll get all muddled up. Why do you try to know all this? Cracking jokes? God exists. A thousand-armed Goddess Kali. (Mother laughs merrily)

When somebody runs a temperature, you'll find one pisses all too often, another drinks all too often, another yawns very much, another sings a lot, still another talks too much. Eh, isn't like that? One or the other gives out a different kind of vapor.

Well, here you are— I won't talk further. The key has turned in the lock.

Author's Bio:

Ma-Mahajnan, a matchless spiritual genius, expressed her entire creation in a state of "Conscious Trance” which has all been stuffed with matters of highly philosophical value and related with strong literary sense. She could not attend even Primary School due to extreme poverty. Strangely, she was taught all by herself in the School of Nature. The weird and wonderful life is possibly the souse of her vast experience and profound realization. She was born on 17 July, 1928 and passed away on 22 January, 2011. Listen to what Ma-Mahajnan said once: What I tell you briefly about the early phase. Listen first about my life. I was married off at the age of thirteen. I was the second wife, my husband married for the second time and thus I came into his family. I didn’t get any chance for schooling.” You’ll perhaps weep to hear how I came as a wife, driven by utter poverty or how they packed me off. After that all at once I slowly progressed in the domain of that ‘Nothingness’-- “I’m the Mother; the Nothingness, too.”

Asokananda Prosad, Ma-Mahajnan's first disciple, is an engineer, a philosopher and a philanthropist. Being the missing son—the eldest and the first disciple of Great Ma-Mahajnan, he has had to shoulder so many burdens of Ashram and Temple. He has long been translating Works of Ma-Mahajnan, written in Bengali, into English. The Mother didn’t just put those in black and white, but simply expressed, extempore and spontaneous, in a state of “Conscious Trance” and Asokananda, along with his brothers and sisters of Ashram and Temple, got those tape-recorded. Director of Pub.
