“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always preserves.”–1 Corinthians 13:4-7
I know nobody that doesn’t want to experience love in their lives. Consciously or not we all strive for love. All that we do is to get love, to receive love, to be love. But how can we experience love, how can we receive love when we can’t even give love to ourselves? We forgot to love ourselves, we forgot that in order for us to survive, in order for us to be fulfilled, to be happy, we need to feel loved, we need to be love.
As we grew older we came to the realization that we no longer need love, that we can live without it. We’ve built walls so we can separate ourselves from love, from those people whom we might have loved and in the end they might have hurt ourselves. Little by little we gave up on love, not knowing that love is all we needed in order for us to be happy. When love is present everything seem to fall into places, everything seems a lot more easier. We need love. There is a baby boy, a baby girl in each and every one of us, and that baby girl or baby boy needs love in order to survive. It feeds with love.
A baby can’t survive without love. When a baby is born, he needs love, he needs affection, nourishment in order for him to stay alive, in order for him to grow strong and healthy. A baby needs to be nourished, he needs to feel loved, and this love contributes to his/her’s emotional development, biological development of the child’s brain and central nervous system. Love is not an option, it’s not something that we want because it makes us feel good. It is something that we NEED, not just when we are little babies, but also as adults. A mother’s acts of love not only help the child develop in a harmonious and healthy way but also has an impact on the child’s ability to love throughout life.
Don’t give up on your right to be happy. Don’t give up on your right to feel loved, on your right to give love. Life can be hard sometimes, there might be people who take advantage of us, people that use us, people that can’t give us what we need, what we want. They simply don’t know how to do it, they simply don’t have it in them and they end up hurting us. They too, forgot that love is powerful, that love is kind, that love does not envy, that love has no opposites. They too are afraid that they might be hurt and by thinking this way, they are sabotaging their happiness. By doing this they are also hurting those around them. Don’t let this be one of the reasons you give up on love. Learn from every single thing that happens to you, learn from every experience, for there is a lesson hidden in everything that comes into your life. There are no accidents in this world. Remember, your thoughts make your reality and if you choose to focus on the negative rather than positive, you will attract more negative situation in your life, more negative people and so on.
If you want love to be present in your life, and I know you do, we all want, choose to be love, choose to love yourself first. If you can’t love yourself than you won’t be able to love those around you. You might think you can but it’s not possible. At one point or another something will happen, something that will make you realize that the people in your life are hard to love, and that is only because you haven’t completely mastered yourself. You haven’t learn how to love yourself unconditionally. How can you give to others something that you don’t have for yourself? It is impossible. You simply can’t, no matter how hard you try to get yourself into thinking that it is possible.
Once you accept yourself entirely for who you are and what you do, once you mange to love yourself, you will come to see the world from a completely different perspective. Once you change your lenses, your perceptions, your beliefs, the whole world will be different. All that you will see is that which is already within you. As within so without. You see, the world is just perfect the way it is. The world can’t change, it doesn’t have to change. You are the only one that needs to change and once you change, the whole world will change with you. All the answers to your questions, all the solutions to your problems are already inside you. You don’t have to look no further. Open your heart. “Who looks outside dreams, who looks inside awakes.” Carl Gustav Jung
