In spite of so many inspirational words, mostly imaginary, in support of LOVE, practically we could make no sense of love that refers to divinity. The failure lies in the way of life we lead to elevate our mind. Naturally, without being an enlightened soul we teach our devotees and our society. The depth of knowledge among the spiritual teachers is to be judged. But who is going to take the risk? Out of fear everybody will definitely decline.

Then what makes me so daring to unveil the truth? It is none but Ma-Mahajnan, the spiritual genius. I had the privilege of 48 years at stretch in her gracious contact and that transformed my mind to a great extent. Now at this advanced age I feel within myself a different man. Really? How it happened? Yes, it has to stand litmus test. Before that I can, in no way, claim to be so. Leave it. It’s a long story.

Let me explain something from the sayings of Great Mother, in a state of her ‘Conscious Trance’. In her authentic creation: “Unraveling of the mystery of the universe” she has purported something of serious concern. I just quote the essence of some items from the last chapter: “Universal solution offering tranquility”.

Knowledge Of The "Brahman":

It's never possible to attain to knowledge of the Brahman--The Supreme Being, disregarding general knowledge. You can only have a comprehension of metaphysics. That grows with culture. That is all. At no time, it amounts to complete realization.

Go on culturing general knowledge. May renunciation be added to that? Slowly will dawn on you the realization of 'Brahman'. Not that you will first master one and then the other. Both have to be pursued at the same time. But it is never possible to attain to a positive knowledge of the Absolute, despising general knowledge, feeling contemptuous about His creation to be no more than 'maya' (illusion). This is more than a game of bluff.

Now the question is how can you speak in detail or attain to knowledge of that side which has been left out? Besides, unless you are caught in that action and reaction, where will general knowledge come from? Unless you get stuck in your work, your wits don't come into play, do they? Further, unless the wits are cultured, can knowledge come from?

Now come and own up freely—I don't have the capacity. If I get married, I won't be able to attain to Brahman. Yet it's true, the world will offer you this victor's garland—Oh, what an all-renouncing man or woman! Though they say that, there is no escape for you, dear.

Even if you don't marry, may have a family to look after. There are those brothers and sisters of tender age; helpless mother, widowed or not; pangs of poverty; old and crippled father, and so on. All this makes up a big enough family. Through all this come various kinds of action and reaction. When lot of your work is held up--anxiety, worry, helplessness—here's this mind of yours—here intelligence is called for (to help you tackle any situation you face.)
Slowly does this intelligence become operative. At this turn of affairs the mind, formerly helpless, rejoices—"Let that pass, I have become what I am through this process." True, this is true. There stands knowledge.

Profound Renunciation Begets Profound Knowledge:

If a person wishes to unravel the mystery, he's to set his foot on to know--where did this created world come from, how made, why, what for and so on and so forth. Thus do come his renunciation and non-attachment, eh? If he cares to know deeply, he's to renounce deeply.

But one thing. Don't let anybody know that you are doing research. Nobody should know. Moment by moment your mind is changing. See what shapes are being formed. All this comes to turning round the desire. As soon as you get down to research, your eyes will be riveted on that spot. The mind will be at rest and the rest of your work on other sides will be neglected of itself.

If you are essentially a research worker, you won't take much time—that's one thing. The other thing is this. The people around will cease to work looking at your research. You know they will honor you, offer you ovation. Your research spirit will evaporate; the ego will take over.

“Worldly-cum-Spiritual striving” is the only way to aim at highest attainment. “Work is Worship” has to be properly maintained. It requires more and more patience and perseverance rather than any kind of meditation or any austerity. Loving members of our family along with the surrounding neighbor, we feel ourselves acceptable to one and all. If people that come in our life are not satisfied with us, how can we expect that god will love us?

Now what does this ‘loving everybody’ mean? We should maintain a good relation with everybody as regards listening to their problems, helping them with what little we have or as far as possible; and of course, without the least thought of getting something in return. Here again I am to quote from Ma-Mahajnan. Leaving her aside there is no way to be enriched with knowledge and understand what love truly means.

“I cannot expect an exchange of hearts. For, if I sit here with that heart of vast expanse—if indeed I am of that race of noble and great soul, how can I get a heart of the same order from a small , petty man! I can't. If I count on that, I'll point to the limitation of my knowledge. I'll expect that he'll refashion his own heart after this vast heart of mine.

I'll accept that mean, naked heart of his as vast. In that case he'll hug it to his own bosom and say to himself—"Oh, what a heart have I seen! O Lord, can't I make myself like that?" The give-and-take will take place on this basis of exchange.”

All are alike—both great and small. Everybody is one of mother's children. Mother makes use of whatever finger or hand she needs while doing her work. If you truly happen to recognize her, know her, care to come here, do come. Further, if I know, you're a moneyed man—see that too, I'll show you the way how I can strip you of that money.

When you grasp a spade, you never use these two fingers, but when you put pencil to paper, you can't simply do without these two fingers. You've to hold the pencil between these fingers. So when this (a tape recorder) was required, a man, who has no rice for his cooking pot, would surely not pop in. He thinks—Oh, so-and-so has heard mother sing, he has bought here a tape-recording machine. He hasn't a word to say for himself.”

But everybody is paying his mite—it comes to one rupee or five, two rupees or ten. Then? I haven't anything to offer. How can I go in? At the same time, the Guru also has his eyes fashioned on the disciple.—How fine! That disciple has given that; this one this.”

So Sir, is there anything left to explain about love? We talk so much about this and that—even about love. But without profound knowledge, loving people is absolutely impossible. Would anybody kindly help me to join an Institution where I will be taught “Formation of Character and Oder of Sequence”. I would like to start afresh. We are to go a long way loving one and all, each other. World peace is simply far-fetched.

Author's Bio:

Ma-Mahajnan, a matchless spiritual genius, expressed her entire creation in a state of "Conscious Trance” which has all been stuffed with matters of highly philosophical values and related with strong literary sense. She could not attend even Primary School due to extreme poverty. Strangely, she was taught all by herself in the School of Nature. The weird and wonderful life is possibly the souse of her vast experience and profound realization. She was born on 17 July, 1928 and passed away on 22 January, 2011.

Listen to what Ma-Mahajnan said once: “I may as well tell you in advance; I haven’t read about any Yoga, I am, in fact, innocent of any learning. Just believe me; you should know this in advance. In fact, if you speak in English, I won’t understand that. I am a perfect ignoramus.” Listen to what I tell you briefly about the early phase. Listen first about my life. I was married off at the age of thirteen. I was the second wife, my husband married for the second time and thus I came into his family. I didn’t get any chance for schooling.” You’ll perhaps weep to hear how I came as a wife, driven by utter poverty or how they packed me off. After that all at once I slowly progressed in the domain of that ‘Nothingness’.--Please refer to “I’m the Mother; the Nothingness, too.”

Asokananda Prosad, Ma-Mahajnan's first disciple, is an engineer, a philosopher and a philanthropist. Being the missing son—the eldest and the first disciple of Great Ma-Mahajnan, he has had to shoulder so many burdens of Ashram and Temple. Of course, there are few brothers and sisters, very sincere and honest, intelligent and industrious. They help him in every way. He has long been translating Works of Ma-Mahajnan, written in Bengali, into English. The Mother didn’t just put those in black and white, but simply expressed, extempore and spontaneous, in a state of “Conscious Trance” and Asokananda got those tape-recorded.
