It's fitting that Catholic Sports Radio is a show that you (more than likely) sit and listen to. Maybe at your computer, for example. It conjures up images of the proverbial good old days when fans would sit by a radio console listening to the broadcast of a baseball game.

Meanwhile, the players are sitting anxiously in the dugout, fidgeting with whatever is part of their pre-game ritual. I've seen hockey players standing on the ice during the national anthem, their feet moving back and forth slightly to keep their skates in motion as they anxiously await the start of the game. Boxers will bounce around in their corner, maybe shadow box a little as they wait for the official to call the two fighters together in the center of the ring.

No one can seem to just be patient and stay idle. They all want something right then in that moment.

And that's how we get in our prayer life, in our faith walk.

We want God to bring us OUR goal, our prize, our trophy, our outcome right after we ask Him for it.

Thinking back to that person who sat by the old radio console listening to the baseball game, picture instead sitting in church just as Mass is about to start and your eyes are closed and you're only focused on being in God's house. Everything else got left outside or in the car or at home. We know from the Bible exactly how we are to be. Psalm 37 verse 7 tells us, "Be still before the Lord; wait for him."
