Children unlike most adults are much more susceptible towards negative energy in their environment. To create a safe healthy environment for your little one, you could do many thing one of which is to use the ancient techniques of Feng Shui to direct more positive Chi (natural energy) to your little one's safe haven.

One of the primary indicators that there is something wrong is disturbance in the sleeping habits of the child. If you notice that your kid starts spending too many nights in your bed instead of his/ hers, you should take immediate measures. Here are some easy-to-apply Feng Shui methods for kid's bedroom:

Bed

The bed should be positioned against a wall to ensure stability and support. However, you need to avoid lining it up with the door or making the mistake to place it underneath a window.

Colour Scheme

The colour scheme of a room is vital for the psychological state of the child. Nice, calming pastels would work best. This year emerald green is particularly popular which is all the more compatible with the Feng Shui rules for applying earthly colours. As long as you avoid bright, intensive colours like red, magenta and pink you won't have any problems.

Zones

Very often the bedroom is combined with a playroom, so you need to divide it into zones. Create at least two different spaces – one for fun and one for sleep and leisure. While the sleeping zone has to be clutter-free and relaxing, the play zone can be more colourful fun... and yes, a bit disorderly...

A nice carpet or at least an area rug will also make for a great addition to the play zone. However, you should be very careful what material you pick. Natural cotton and wool are the top-of-the-shelf options, if you have the budget for them. Otherwise a blend with polyester will also do the trick. It is also easier to keep clean, believe Melbourne cleaning experts .

Wall Decorations

In a young kid's bedroom, there shouldn't be any mirrors on the walls. According to Feng Shui, they are too active (“yang”). A mirror can enhance the kid's imagination at night and make falling asleep a challenge. Instead, pick out a nice family photo that will help your little angel feel secure in there.

Clutter

Clutter disrupts the Chi of the room and causes sleep problems, so you need to implement a storage system to avoid it at all times. Go through your kid's clothes and toys at least once a year, every season would be best, and remove any items that aren't in use. You can give the unwanted objects to a local charity or toss away the damaged ones.

Electrical Features

The less electrical features are situated in the space the better. Electrical blankets in particular can be particularly energy-depraving. To stimulate sound sleep, allocate any features like lamps, clocks, computers and etc. at least two metres away from the bed (sleeping area).
