When the going gets tough, the tough go do something fun.
Listen, it is highly likely that you'll have days that are less fluid than others. Days that present challenges. Days where you want to throw your computer out the window and auction off your first-born.
When you own your business, these days definitely make an appearance – especially in the beginning. It does get easier the farther down the path you walk; I can promise you that! But still, even the most experienced entrepreneur has those doubtful days.
So what do you do with them?
The difference between a happily successful entrepreneur and a moderately successful entrepreneur is how they deal with those days.
See, success loves a good time. The more fun you're having in your life, the more success you will experience.
Maybe it's because you're not worried about all those things you can't control.
Maybe it's because your vibration is raised to joy.
Maybe it's because you just don’t have the time to be in a bad mood.
Maybe it's all of the above and more!
Now might be a good time to define just what I mean by success, because, to me, success goes far beyond your bank account.
Success is being able to live life on your terms in joy, freedom, and abundance. Money plays a part, but so do family, friends, spirit, health, and surroundings.
Being aligned with your core values on a daily basis is key to success.
So what do you do when you feel like you're out of whack? When the going gets tough? When it feels as though nothing is working out? When your to-do list looms large and you feel like a hamster on the proverbial wheel?
Go do something easy.
Take a walk.
Fall asleep.
Watch your favorite feel-good movie.
Read a book.
Sweat.
Watch clips of adorable puppies and kittens.
Do whatever you can to completely remove your attention from the source of your discontent.
Some people balk at this idea because they're taught they must persevere and SOLVE the problem. Or else.
Well... you could do that, sure. Go for it. But it won't be easy. It won't be fun. Your joy level is likely to plummet, and you won't see the sort of results you want.
You're far better off revisiting it later.
It's okay to step away from the situation that's causing you grief, especially if that situation has to do with your business.
I know how it is. Believe me. We ALL want so badly for our businesses to succeed that sometimes we suffocate them. Back off. Let it bloom. Then return to water, fertilize, and prune. And enjoy the process while you're at it!
Let go. Do something fun! This is especially important when things are feeling a little icky, sticky, upside-down, or hard.
The formula is simple: More joy + Less stress = More success.
