I often trick myself into thinking that I have a certain end result in mind but upon further examination, I notice that what I’m really committed to is something else.

Commited or TryingFor instance, in the past I’d tell myself that I wanted to create a certain amount of income per month. Yet, month after month I wouldn’t hit my target.

I’d keep plugging along with the same strategy for creating teleclasses and selling my products. So why wasn’t I nailing my income goal?

The answer was simple. I wasn’t committed to having the income I said I wanted. I was trying to hit my target but I didn’t spend my time focused on the outcome I desired.

I spent most of my time worrying about what would happen if I didn’t meet the goal. I kept thinking about how I hated not having enough money to do what I wanted to do, when I wanted to do it.

Does this sound familiar?

I also knew that the strategies I was using in my business didn’t feel quite right but I didn’t know what to change.

Most entrepreneurs would continue to look for the “right” strategies or actions to increase their income. That is no more of a commitment to the desired end result than I had. You’re still “trying” for a goal but nothing about you is committed, no kidding, to winning.

Being committed to a desire is not about how passionate you are about the desire. I was very passionate about making more money. But I didn’t really believe that I could have ‘more than enough money’ in my bank account. I was struggling to even get what I had.

Finally I said, “THAT’S IT! It’s time for me to have more than enough money!”

I made that decision and I felt all my fear melt away. I didn’t know what I was going to do differently at that moment; I just knew my perspective had changed. I was no longer trying; I was going to have that money!

I was excited. I had a new bounce in my step. Within a month I had new strategies for my business and I didn’t have to hunt them down. They came to me easily. I also had a whole new set of people step up to support me in my income commitment who were not there prior to me making my powerful decision.

Do a quick check-in for yourself.

* What are your top three focuses right now?
* Are you committed or trying?
* Do you feel that you are “no kidding” going to win immediately or do you feel it’s a someday goal … that eventually you’ll have what you desire?
* On a scale of 1-10 how fully do you believe that you get to have exactly what you want and when you want it?

Your answers will let you know if you’ve truly made a decision to have your desired outcome.
