This is part 2 of an 8 part blog series titled, “Become the Person Who Can Move Mountains.” This blog is about Visualization. The blogs in this series are: Self-Esteem, Visualization, Knowledge, Patience, Understanding, Giving Back, Love, and Faith & Fear.

We all possess important qualities within us. Some people know what their qualities are, and can access them at any time. For others, they have not discovered what they are. We all have the capabilities within us to succeed. Why is it that some people succeed while others don’t? What makes us so different? What is lacking? Here are some tips to help you become the person who can move mountains by using the tools that you already have. This is an 8 part blog series.

Visualization: See what you want to be! For some people this is easy and for others, this will take work. For some, it takes a split second for them to picture themselves doing what they love to do. For some it is hard to visualize anything, they only see the here and now. Like the work that you put into your self-esteem, this too can be done.

If you are new to visualizing, try it a few moments at a time. Here is an example; if you are in a noisy, crowded space, leave there only for a moment. Take your mind to a warm sunny day, where you are lying on a beach, surrounded by water, you are alone; you are at peace listening to the sound of the waves. Start off slow, only a couple of minutes. After a while, you can start to do this with everything. You want a new car; imagine for a moment what your new car will look like. Just imagine the color, the style, the tires, what size engine, the color of the interior. Vision yourself getting inside the car, it has that new car smell, you look at all the different buttons on the dashboard. This is your dream car. This is your vehicle, this is you driving it. Now, take it a step further. What are you doing for a living to provide the money for the payments? Where are you living? Keep visualizing! What does your house look like? Who are your friends?

When visualizing, please do yourself a favor and don’t make up excuses. You can visualize regardless if you have had nice things in life or not. If you are having a hard time visualizing, you need to find out why. Are you so stuck in not having or getting anywhere that you can’t imagine yourself anywhere else? You have to change things! You have to visualize yourself somewhere else, doing something else! What will come through in this process is your determination. Your determination will go on like a light bulb. Once this happens, there will be no stopping you. It is also a good idea to use your senses when you visualize. Experience through envisioning what something smells like, what something tastes like, and what you hear. The more you visualize something, the more prone you are to make it happen.

You can make a vision board by posting the pictures of the things you like, or the things you want on a poster board. The vision board can include; houses, places you would like to travel, your dream wedding, or your feelings. The important thing about the vision board is that you keep it where you can see it. If you look at it daily, you are reminded of what you are working toward.
