If you’ve been unsuccessful in your attempt to lose weight for months, years or even decades, you may be falling for the most common health scam in the world. Weight loss scams are everywhere and they’re not designed to help you shed pounds, they’re designed to keep you fat and dependent on their product.
The Most Popular Health Scam in the World
One of the most popular health scams in the world today is the idea that low fat and low calorie diets can help you lose weight. These diet scams have hooked and reeled in millions of unsuspecting customers to the tune of billions of dollars in profits each year. Avoiding weight loss scams is your first step to succeeding in your weight loss goals and getting healthy.
Calorie Deprivation Doesn’t Shed Pounds
The first part of this weight loss scam is calorie deprivation. You’ve been told that the fewer calories you consume, the more weight you’ll lose. Theoretically, this is true. Unfortunately, this weight loss method comes at a serious price. When you eat pre-packaged low-calorie meals, you’re depriving your body of the nutrients it needs to function properly.
When you don’t consume enough calories each day, your body goes into starvation mode, hanging on to every bit of fat you consume and slowing your metabolism to a crawl. You may lose weight while you’re watching your calories but the moment you give in to the temptation to eat that cupcake or bowl of ice cream (and you will because you’re starving, not because you’re a weak person), you’ll gain weight that much faster and have a harder time taking it off.
You Can’t Lose Weight with Low Fat Food
If you’ve never heard this before, it may surprise you to learn that your body needs fat to lose weight. Yes. Low-fat foods are a terrible health scam that’s sweeping the nation and making people sicker, weaker, and more food-addicted than ever.
The next time you’re at the grocery store, turn that box of low-fat snack cakes around and read the ingredients. There’s some stuff in there you might not even be able to pronounce. These preservatives and additives are not healthy for you and will only impede your weight-loss efforts while keeping you addicted to the food.
Some of the alarming additives in low-fat foods include:
• High Fructose Corn Syrup – This synthetic sweetener has been clinically-proven to cause obesity, diabetes, and immune system dysfunction.
• Food Dyes – Food dyes such as Red #40, Yellow #5, and Blue Lake have been linked to neurological disorders.
• BHT and BHA – These two preservatives are commonly found in breakfast cereal and have been linked to cancer.
• Hydrogenated Oil – This is one fat you need to stay away from. It’s a trans fat that’s been linked to obesity, high cholesterol, metabolic dysfunction, and diabetes.
• Modified Corn Starch – This additive gives those low-fat snack foods their savory flavor but they’re guaranteed to pack on more weight because it’s a simple starch that’s easily broken down into sugar that sends your insulin soaring!
• Enriched Wheat Flour – This is bleached flour that’s completely devoid of nutritional content but full of empty calories.
• Monosodium Glutamate (MSG) – This flavor enhancer has been linked to allergic reaction, chronic headaches, depression, eye problems, and obesity.
Get Skinny the Healthy Way
If you want to get skinny the healthy way, you have to avoid processed foods. Processed foods are those low-calorie, low-fat foods you see in the dietetic aisle and frozen food section of your supermarket.
They’re terrible for you. Your body doesn’t recognize them as food, which means your immune system works overtime to defend you against their ingredients. This leads to chronic inflammation and increased risk of diabetes, autoimmune disease, and even cancer.
To lose weight naturally, you have to eat naturally. This means loading up on organic vegetables, fruits, whole grains, meat, poultry, fish, beans, legumes, and preservative-free dairy products. Adding healthy fats like avocado, nuts, olive oil, butter, and coconut oil can help you lose weight faster by nourishing your body and keeping you fuller longer.
Also, stay away from soda, which is loaded with synthetic sweeteners that harm your health and pack on the pounds. Drink 6-8 glasses of filtered water per day as well as green tea to reduce inflammation and improve your metabolism.
Losing weight shouldn’t be a struggle to control your natural desire for food or an attempt to work out until you drop. A healthy, balanced, whole-food diet and moderate exercise is all you need to lose weight and get a body you can be proud to show off.
