You can have an abundance of love just as you might have an abundance of hard times. “My cup runneth over,” means that I have abundance in my life. We can look at how someone has abundance in; joy, love, friendship, wealth, status, spirituality, compassion, a state of being, knowledge, etc. Each person is different, what is important to one person may not be as important to someone else.
Abundance means a very large quantity of something. Are you aware that some people wake up in the morning with an overwhelming feeling of abundance of joy from just being alive and appreciating the chance of a new day? What about how blessed you are with the abundance of family and friends that surround you? What about the abundance of love that you feel when you think about a loved one or you’re in the presence a loved one? How about the feeling of abundance when you walk with the Lord? What about the overwhelming abundance of love that you feel when you hold a new born baby?
To me; abundance is about overflowing. It is about overflowing with love and joy. When something overflows it goes to others to share; to share in each and every moment. My heart is overflowing and it keeps me humbled. Have you ever met a happy, loving soul? You know, the kind of person that illuminates love and joy. That person is overflowing with love and joy and it flows to everyone they meet. When you meet this type of person it brings you joy which you in turn spread to others who enter your life. Some of those encounters may only be a brief moment, while others last a lifetime.
Regardless of what it is that you want an abundance of, it can be obtained. Even if you don’t have it right now, you can act and feel as if you already have acquired it. You have to put your heart and soul into it. If you want a better job, you have to dress like it and have the attitude that you already have it. It is all about preparing for it and taking the necessary steps to learn what is needed to obtain it.
Having an abundance of love and joy come from gratitude and compassion. When you are grateful for something you can feel the love through compassion. If someone shows you compassion, you in turn show it to someone else.
I remember a time in my life when I had an overabundance of bills. It was during that time when I had so little that I realized that I had so much, an abundance of good friends and love. Those were the best of times and yet the worst of times. I also remember as a young child what it was like to be poor and go hungry. I’m not sure if it was more important to eat hot dogs for every meal for months on end or to have a place to sit and eat the hot dogs, I was too young to decipher the difference. It really doesn’t matter now because I made it and my experience has always kept me humbled. Now I feel like everything is in a microscope that’s set at its highest magnification. I can see things more clearly, I assess things more clearly and I know that the overwhelming abundance of joy and love in my heart can be passed on to someone else who may be in need of it.
So, whatever you focus on, you can and will achieve it. You already have an overabundance of many things in your life. It all depends on what you choose to focus on to bring you more love and joy into your life and keep you humble.
I am grateful for all the abundance in my life, through the good and the bad as they have made me the person that I am today. I wish for you, all of the wonderful things that this life has to offer and an overwhelming abundance of love and joy be with you always.
